Cervical screening

Cervical screening is a free test that is carried out at your GP surgery.
The test looks for early changes in the cells at the neck of the womb (the cervix).
In Northern Ireland, screening is offered to all individuals aged 25-64 who are registered with a GP as female.
If you have a cervix but are not registered as female, you should still consider attending for cervical screening because finding changes before they become cancer gives you the best chance of successful treatment.
