Do you need support from Cash for Kids Northern Ireland?

Our mission is to raise money for the thousands of disadvantaged children in Northern Ireland who are need our support. Funds raised will be distributed and directly benefit children and young people aged 0-18, with a focus on alleviating disability, combating illness, improving quality of life as well as encouraging personal development and aspirational fulfilment.

They will also assist in promoting the social, physical and mental wellbeing of young people who reside within the transmission area of Downtown Radio and Cool FM.

Applying for a grant

All the money raised through community fundraising will be paid into Cash for Kids Northern Ireland.

Cash for Kids welcomes grant applications from a variety of projects and appeals. Both individuals and organisations are invited to write in and tell us of the projects which may need our support. We have had an overwhelming response to our requests for applications and are doing our best to fundraise and bring in as much money as possible to distribute.

Eligibility criteria

  1. Cash for Kids Northern Ireland exists solely to help children up to and including the age of 18.
  2. Grant applications can only be made to children that live in/registered charities that help children in the Downtown Radio and Cool FM broadcast area (see map).
  3. Consideration for grants will only be given to projects aiming to help children up to the age of 18 years who are ill, disabled or disadvantaged. Details of things we will not fund are as follows; salaries/volunteer expenses, home improvements (windows and doors/extensions), holidays abroad for families, furniture that will not be used specifically by children, school trips abroad, general operational costs, televisions, rent/rates for premises, driving lessons for parents/carers, medical treatment abroad, PTAs, sporting events for individuals to participate in, CICs (Community Interest Companies).
  4. The Local Executive Board reserves the right to consider all grant applications individually and on their own merit and from time to time add to our main grant making criteria.
  5. Favourable consideration will be given to those projects which directly benefit a number/large number of children and/or positively increase the quality of their lives.
  6. Successful schemes will be of good quality with careful consideration being given to the safety and well being of children.
  7. Grant applications must be accompanied by the most recently audited annual accounts of the organisation seeking the grant.
  8. Timing of applications – 
applications are submitted on an ongoing basis. The Local Executive Board meets three times a year after each grant deadline and will reply to successful and unsuccessful applications shortly thereafter.
