The Northern Connections Service changes due to NI government restrictions

The Northern Connections Service have had to do things a bit different due to the restrictions put in place by the NI government. We wanted to inform all our contacts, stakeholders, voluntary and community organisations and colleges that we are STILL HERE! and continuing to work with local communities and stakeholders throughout the locality addressing Drugs & Alcohol together.
Taking into consideration that the new change in circumstances is here for the foreseeable we are keen to deliver the best service possible and reach all those in need. Awareness Raising Sessions/ Video’s
The Northern team are continuing to develop new online awareness raising sessions & videos. Our plan is too use these with local community groups, organisations and those that have requested future awareness raising sessions. As well as this we have up to date information packs that can be distributed as requested to all local community groups/ organisations. Social Media
We are continuing via Social Media to address a range of key themes around Drug & Alcohol consumption via our Drugs and Alcohol NI platforms which you can find on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. If you haven’t already, please give us a like and add us to keep up to date with the work we are doing and the issues regarding substance misuse within Northern Ireland. If you could share these posts via your social media platform it would be greatly appreciated.
The Regional Connections service have created a short 10- minute video to address alcohol use in lockdown this was used during our Alcohol Awareness 2020 Campaign. It highlights recommended units and how to look after your emotional and physical wellbeing using Take5. The video offers harm reduction advice and signposting to relevant support agencies.
