Invitation to Apply for Funding under the Community Food Initiatives Programme 2022-24

SECAD Partnership, on behalf of safefood, is seeking applications for funding under the Community Food Initiatives Programme 2022-24.

The Community Food Initiatives (CFI) is a healthy eating programme funded by safefood and runs over a three year cycle.  Its purpose is to provide people with the knowledge and skills to provide healthy food options for themselves and their families. safefood was established in 1999 and is an all-island implementation body set up under the British-Irish Agreement with a general remit to promote awareness and knowledge of food safety and nutrition issues on the island of Ireland (IOI).  The CFI programme is managed by SECAD Partnership on behalf of safefood.

As safefood is an all-island body, the 14 organisations delivering the programme are from both Northern Ireland (NI) and the Republic of Ireland (ROI).  One CFI Leader is selected from each of the 5 Health & Social Care Trust regions in Northern Ireland and one CFI Leader is selected from each of the 9 Community Healthcare Organisation regions in the Republic of Ireland.  The CFI Leader is responsible for co-ordinating the CFI in their local area and each year during the three year funding cycle, organises a series of community events and small projects with the support of a local CFI Steering Group.
