Fuel Poverty Awareness Day – 2 December 2022

#FuelPovertyAwarenessDay

With one week to go until National Energy Action’s Fuel Poverty Awareness day, we’d like to share our media pack.
This year our focus is on this winter and beyond.

To mark the day itself we will also be releasing new data on the numbers in fuel poverty from April. We will also look at the numbers of specific vulnerable groups including carers and people with disabilities. Please look out for these and share them on Friday.

We have assets that you are welcome to download and share on your social media, including facts and stats on the energy crisis and its effects on people’s lived experience. Many of these are available in Welsh too. Please use the hashtag #FuelPovertyAwarenessDay. If you are tweeting please include @NEA_UKCharity, @NEA_NIreland for Northern Ireland and @NEA_Cymru for Wales.
We also have a fuel poverty map, showing levels in your area and a letter which you can customise and send to your MP. It calls for more support for the most vulnerable. We have a version for Welsh MSPs and a translated version in Welsh.
Please also shared anything your charity or organisation is doing to help those in fuel poverty. We want to highlight the wonderful work that is making a real difference to people’s lives in what could be a particularly bleak winter.
