Background

The Asda Foundation, set up in 1988, supports a range of good causes around the UK, including support to charities, playgroups and football teams.

Community Champions are Asda Colleagues based in Superstores who work alongside the local community to build relationships ensuring support for various projects, groups and charities in the local area.

The new U18 Better Starts Grant supports a wide range of activities and projects to improve the lives of under 18-year-olds in the UK and there are four themes for applicants to choose from:

  • Supporting Essentials: to ensure there is no hungry child and basic essentials are provided.
  • Being Active: to enable every child has the opportunity to be active.
  • Improving Wellbeing: activities to support a child’s mental health, to encourage creativity.
  • Celebrating and Bringing Children Together: enable under 18s to celebrate within the community.

The new U18 Better Starts Grant aims to give children under 18 years old the best start in life by tackling poverty, enabling inclusion and enhancing wellbeing.
