WALX Nordic Walking Community Instructor Training Course

WALX Nordic Walking Community Instructor Training Course
Monday 24 April 2023, 10am-12pm, Monday 15 May, 10am -12pm
Delivered virtually via Zoom

WALX, the organisation behind Nordic Walking UK, will be delivering a WALX Community
Instructor training course on Monday 24 April and Monday 15 May to enable local
Councils and community groups to set up and deliver Nordic walking classes to their local
communities.

The course is aimed at those with sports coaching or physical activity delivery experience but
is also suitable for those without a formal qualification who would like to become involved in
community activity delivery. Please note you must be delivering in the Northern Trust area to
apply for this course.

The course is delivered via two 2-hour interactive Zoom sessions. Between these dates, you
will work through an online training course which will enable you to develop the practical
skills required to safely and effectively teach Nordic walking to community groups. It is
anticipated that the online training course will take about 15-20 hours, working through the
material in the month before the second session. Note that most of the online training is
practical and is accessible by phone, so you can learn and practice indoors and outdoors.
Attendance at both Zoom sessions, and completion of the online training course, is required
for certification.
